Monica Mergiu is a German doctor dentist , writer and lyricist member of the German Union of Writers, Bavarian Union of Writers, International Federation of Journalists and UN Women Germany. She lives and writes in Munich recognized and awarded for her books and media articles as promoter of Arab culture and heritage, Arab Women artists, activist for women empowerment, cross cultural initiatives and multicultural dialog. Monica Mergiu is Founder of ,,Art & Royal Virtual Library for Cross Cultural Communication » under the motto ,,Culture unites people ».
Her literary project ,,Women&Art » presents in several volumes interviews, dialogs and essays with artists of different continents, nationalities and religions from Munich, Monaco, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, USA , to United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Jerusalem – a transcultural journey with the motto ,,Women Artists as Peacemakers ».
The author cooperates for her books illustrations with the UNESCO awarded painter of Arab calligraphy the Tunisian French artist Raouf Meftah.
